Day One. Jubi and I have been meaning to do some Easter eggs for some time now, so today, despite that Ziggy decided not to sleep for more than ten minute spurts, we decided to jump in. Plus, since I had already picked up some supplies for some Pinterest egg ideas, this is where my first day in my 50 day journey took me.
I actually ended up completing *3* pins today, but since they were all Easter eggs, I decided to just count them together as one day.
The first idea was to use glue dots on the eggs and cover them in glitter. These turned out decently pretty, I just wish for these eggs that I had found the larger glue dots. I think they would have made a bigger effect.
For the second idea though, the small glue dots were perfect. I stuck the dots all over the eggs and then dyed as normal. The pin actually said to use round stickers and remove once the eggs were dyed, but since the glue dots were clear, I decided to leave them on, giving the final product a bit of a textured finish. Soaking in the dye took away most of the stick. I like them the best. The dye doesn't get under the sticker/dots, so the dyed eggs are splattered with wonderful white spots.
The final pin was to boil an egg, crack it all over and THEN dye it. Supposedly, I should have been able to remove the shell and be left with an egg with random lines, but it did not work at all.
Looking forward to jumping on a new project tomorrow!
